A little wisdom from Greys Anatomy

I was going to do this post in a few weeks, since we just did a quote post, but this week is turning into a crazy busy one at work for both of us, and I had no time to finish up the research for the posts in the works!

I think recently, Greys hasn't been the show it once was, it is like they got a new set of writers after the strike, but as gloomy as meredith is, she has some good quotes. And Patrick Dempsey is soo handsome. Like SOOO HANDSOME. uh. I can't even get over it.

Trina Turk Residential

I have always been a huge fan of Trina Turk's dresses( and most recently, tights she has collaborated with HUE) and am SUPER jealous my brother and his wife are jetting off to Palm Springs and can visit the Residential Store. It looks glorious!

I think I want to make curtains out of this Santorini fabric

I bought this Shanghai Links rug online..I'm deciding if it is going in my office or my living room

I ADORE these pillows

The lovely Megan of Lovely Happenings posted this last week, and thought I would share it with you lovelies to keep us motivated this Monday morning!

A little Exciting News!

I've been so MIA lately, just wanted to pop in and say that I landed a new job starting Tuesday working in Walnut Creek, right next to where Danielle and I went to school! It is all very exciting, and it's going to be great to get back into the working world( though I did enjoy the little break!)

*Update: I found out that my first week will be helping around with office tasks (filing, copying, updating databases, etc.), after that I start working with financial advisers, scheduling meetings/appointments, and put together a marketing plan.

"Want to know something I learned? Hiking, it is just walking"

Photobucket

So, next weekend I am braving the great outdoors for a camping trip with some other couples. Now, I'm a little high maintence..I'll admit it. I've never been camping, I don't go camping. I am horrified I am going to be attacked by a bear. This also is a new relationship-thing( we haven't had the chat yet, so I don't really know what to call it)

My number one concern right now is outfits..what do I wear to still look fashionable, yet not out of touch with the fact I am sleeping outside. Naturally, I turned to Polyvore to see some sets that others have made..Here are a few I liked:

If anyone has some suggestions-OR ADVICE!, GREATLY APPRECIATED!
I already have a bunch of magazine, the Twilight series to read, and an air mattress for the tent ready to go!

Also, we have an engagement party to go to in a few weeks, ladies, any suggestions on how I GENTLY suggest that he should be dressing a little less grad student, a little more like this:

Update: The lovely Sarah Danielle sent me over this board created by Courtney, and I kinda love it!!

A little spring cleaning of my style files

Maybe it's because LA cannot decide if it is ready to embrace spring weather wise( I literally am in a parka today it is soo cold) but I decided to clean out my style inspiration files in an effort to really get ready for spring...and these looks just needed to be shared! European and New York women are so chic I can't stand it!

I want to be a supermodel....

Floral skirt, leather jacket, croc bag= I die

geek chic meets bad ass rocker chic--I still love those Louboutin booties

Feathers. enough said.

Classic pieces(cropped jacket, navy pants) meets edgy( hot pink Prada turban)

I thought Rachel Zoe looked ADORABLE at the Sugar premier last week in Hollywood. I am loving her little sequin beret

A collection of stylish NY women, most notably some Vogue editors at the top...

A little wisdom from Brad Pitt

Over the weekend I raided my moms netflix pile, and she had Babel, starring Cate Blanchet and Brad Pitt. The movie was long, sad, and I felt defeated after watching it. However, Brad and Cate have amazing chemistry. It got me thinking to Benjamin Button, which was one of my FAVORITE movies of the Oscar season( and I am a big F. Scott groupie) I have the following quote up on my mirror at home, reminding me that it is never to late to start over and be who you want.

PS..if you haven't seen the movie, you must. If for nothing else, Brad looks SMOKIN HOT!

For what it’s worth, it’s never too late, or in my case too early, to be whoever you want to be. There’s no time limit… start whenever you want… you can change or stay the same. There are no rules to this thing. We can make the best or the worst of it. I hope you make the best of it. I hope you see things that stop you. I hope you feel things that you never felt before. I hope you meet people with a different point of view. I hope you live a life that you’re proud of and if you find that you’re not, I hope you have the strength to start all over again

Celebrity Style Crush: Rachel Bilson

newly added picture I just got off a blog this morning. Always so inspiring!!

Rachel Bilson's style has evolved from her early days as Summer on the O.C....
She is the girl I am always looking to for inspiration, and I'm always trying to decide if I like her casual looks or red carpet ones better...that is the true testiment of a style star, she puts herself together better than her stylist does

In Loeffer Randall boots with her pup, Thurman Murman

This picture is about 4 years old, and is STILL on my home inspiration board...the casual, stripy nautical look that is tres chic

in Chanel

In Dior. This is my DREAM dress to wear for my wedding

In Abeate. I searched high and low for this dress, only to cry when they had one size left on Gilt Groupe last week

I love Who, What Wear's inspiration board
Who is your celebrity style crush??
HAPPY WEEKEND! any fun plans?

Blogger Interview: Nicole Marie of La Mia Vita

Our third installment of the blogger interview is Nicole Marie of La Mia Vita. We instantly fell in love with her blog when we found it.. Nicole is the girl we would've wanted to be friends with and hang around in college.

What inspired you to start blogging?

My roommate Kelly and I used to share a room. We would sit across from each other sending links to cute, adorable, amazing stuff. She started a blog and I slowly followed (even though I thought I would never keep it up).

Nicole(in the awesome leather jacket) with Kelly

What are your daily blog reads?

Oh goodness, a lot but here’s a few:

Love Meagan

Cupcakes and Cashmere

A Cup of Jo

RockStar Diaries

Just a Girl in a City

Something Splendiferous

Have a Lovely

Lost In Translation

Lovely Happenings

And of course, Sweet Nothings!

What makes a blog a must read for you?

I like to read a wide range of blogs from the super popular ones to the small personal ones. Whether it’s a fashion, family, personal, wedding, life, animal etc blog, I can never pass one up with great pictures!

If you had to choose just one of these things for the rest of your life, what would it be:

-Song you could listen to: right now, “Come on Get Higher” by Matt Nathanson

-Movie to watch: A Lot Like Love

-Ensemble: boots, tights, sweater (literally have worn this outfit almost everyday this winter)

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be? Why?

Hmmm. This one is hard. Audrey Hepburn back in the day. I could learn a few things about sophistication, style and class from her.

Or Kate Hudson because I LOVE her!!!

Your graduating college in the Spring. Congrats! It seems like just yesterday for us. What are your plans?

That is the big question! My plan is to get my teaching credentials to teach elementary school. Everyone says how rewarding teaching is but you really don’t understand until you’ve been there, seen it and felt that satisfaction.

My back up plans are:

a) opening a business

b) moving to Europe

c) shamelessly living off my parents for a few more years !

And finally, the most important question, Socal or Norcal?

Haha. Though I’ve moved around a lot in my life, SoCal will always be home. Nothing beats the amazing beaches, incredible weather and of course that is where my family is. But I have really grown to love NorCal for its diversity. Especially the city. Every day I am so grateful to live in such an amazing,

Everyone go check out Nicole's blog! We guarantee you'll love it, and you will add it to your must reads!

Must See Movies

As much as I love the winter movies that come out around Academy Award time, they seem to always make me leave the theater in tears( Benjamin Button anyone?)

There are some movies coming out in the next few months that I am DYING to see:
The fashion blogs I read have been previewing clips of this documentary, and I don't know if I'm more excited for the Couture, or Valentino's relationship with his pugs

Amy Adams +Emily Blunt=perfection

I adored Paris, I love you. This version has almost every celebrity ever taking part.

Paige posted the trailers for these two movies, 500 days of Summer and Away we go, and they make me wish I went to Sundance to preview them

Like every other girl, I have always wanted to work for Vogue. This is about as close as I am going to get

Who didn't love the book?
