Ikea PS Maskros Light Fixture

I have been toying with the idea of this ikea light for over my dining room table for a few months now, and after seeing it in Lonny last week I think I am sold
Now my issue with Ikea is we all know how easy IKEA products are to put together, and sometimes they dont look as planned
Has anyone purchased this or have seen it in person? For 89.00, I want to take a chance with it

  2. Without sounding or being too practical... how does one dust/clean this light fixture? That said... It is a stunning piece.

  8. (Found your blog through Google while searching for the lamp MASKROS :P) Swede as I am I've just put together a whole lot of IKEAstuff today ^^ including MASKROS. I can tell you that the lamp was the easiest, it's not so difficult to put together and it looks amazing! I'd say - go for it! :)

  9. I too love this light fixture and have been contemplating it for my daughter's room.

Also, I wanted to let you know I linked to your blog in a post I just did with fabric options including Chiang Mai. Thanks for the inspiration!

  10. Just bought this lamp after pining for it for several weeks; only to find that it's kind of a monster of a thing and if you don't have the PERFECT place for it you're going to run into problems. Just tried to install it in a French friends apartment where I'm staying and he's very unhappy about it. It really draws a lot of attention and sadly is an eye soar :( think I have to take it back :( :( :(

  11. its a defect product...dont buy it..unless your prepared for extra work with the installation....trust me i no 3 people who bought this and all of them have the same problem/ the cap at the top of the fixture is to small to fit over the plate..and ikea is the worst with costumer service.....DONT BUY IT>>

  12. My husband and I just bought it and it's amazing. Yes, there is some kind of issue with the plate, but my husband just drilled an extra hole in it (He's handy like that). Total install time was less than 1.5 hours including the head-scratching extra hole drilling. :) If you are a wee handy or are having an electrician install it, it's SO worth it. It does make a bold statement, but holy cow... really gorgeous. We have a 100 year old house full of mid-century furniture and this fits perfectly.

As a sidenote for those wondering about scale: There are two sizes. We bought the large one and hung it over our dining room table. We have 9ft ceilings and it's perfect. Large, but perfect. Couldn't be more giddy about it.
