Spring Fashion Help

Here in San Francisco, we're still stuck in the transition phase of Winter/Spring...last week was lovely high 60s-70s and today was gloomy and cold (and it's supposed to rain all week). I saw these "5 tips for making the spring switch" on A Cup of Jo, and thought I would share.

Like a fish, I am drawn to anything sparkly

Jennifer Love Hewitt killed it at the launch of her romantic self help book ( does anyone else find that ironic? I mean I think I have better luck than this poor girl)

but anyways, she looked stunning in this Phillip Lim Sequin Wrap dress.

The possibilities for this dress are endless. I am just waiting for an excuse( or an extra 1000 dollars) to snag it. This is one of those dresses that just oozes sex appeal...

In the Bag: The Beauty File

We're so excited to have Lisi of the Beauty File as our March In the Bag. Her gorgeous blog is filled with amazing pictures, fashion, makeup, and beauty tips. And, can we say we're ready to steal her bag right now!

Thank you Sara & Danielle for including me in this fabulous series! I have a slight obsession with handbags, so I was honored to share mine on their blog. I wear different bags according to the season, the weather and the occasion, but my absolute favorite is my YSL Downtown Tote {in black leather}. It's comfortable, classic and fits anything I so desire. My philosophy on bag size is, "Go big or go home," as evidenced quite clearly by this monster!

As for contents:

1. Wallet: LV, typically stuffed to the brim with all kinds of goodies, including perfumes I've tested, gift cards and Sephora samples.
2. Sunglasses: Oliver Peoples, lost the case ages ago, but I wear them to death.
3. iPod Touch + headphones: Never leave home without it! I'm nothing without my music.
4. Hair accessories: big clip, bobby pins, elastic...
5. Moleskine + pen: To write down ideas for blog posts, to-do lists, general thoughts throughout the day.
6. Filofax planner: I'm old fashioned and need to write everything down.
7. Beauty: Always Rosebud Salve, always! NARS lip gloss in "Pillow Talk," Bobbi Brown Compact for mirror, Black eyeliner {typically Chanel} for frequent touch ups.
8. Glasses: Oliver Peoples, for night driving.
9. Newspaper: I usually carry around various sections of the NY Times wherever I go. I love reading the Arts each day and I attempt to do the crossword Mon-Wed. Beyond that, I dare not go.
10. Other: Car keys, gum, calcium chews {ladies, very important!}
11. Not pictured: my broken phone, poor baby.

Spring Cleaning

I was going through my computer last night, and found a file of photos I had liked and saved...I filtered through them, and picked out the ones that brightened my day, and reminded me of spring.

I have never used chatroulette, but I've had friends tell me about, so when I heard about this video of "Merton" doing piano improv while chatting, I new it would be hilarious, and I knew I had to share...

I still don't have any desire to get on chatroulette, but I do hope Merton makes more videos

March Madness Indeed..sweet 16 bound!

We are proud Saint Mary's College Alumni as we watched our beloved Gaels beat the Villanova Wildcats on Saturday( and ruin many a bracket..sorry Miss Lyndsy who had Nova getting to the end!)

Moving closer and closer to Indy as we take on Baylor in Houston later this week.

Happy Friday and Happy Spring Weekend! It has been in the 80s in LA(thank you Lord) and the shirtdresses and flats have been out in full force, and I think I will spend the weekend with a good book by the pool!!!

Hong Kong

Little known fact about me...I was born in Hong Kong, and lived there until I was nine. Next week, my parents are going back for their 25th wedding anniversary, and so my dad can check up on his restaurants (if you are ever in Hong Kong, eat at Dan Ryans!). I don't remember where I first found out about Kris Atomic's website, but once I saw the photos of HK I was hooked. I thought I would share a few of my faves...I want to go back and visit soon (if only I could afford it).

...I'm on a Horse...

I'm sure you've all seen the Old Spice commercial, but it just never gets old for me...I chuckle every time I see it. The old spice man Isaih Mustafa was recently on Ellen, and recited the commercial (which is almost funnier without the accompanying picture), and I knew I had to share it with all of you...he's pretty adorable, and I had no idea he was a professional football player!
