Happy {Long!} Weekend

Hooray for Friday! I am super excited the weekend is upon us, since I am taking an extra day off on Monday since I am going to be dusting off my cowboy boots Sunday night to see Zac Brown Band in concert! My sunday will be filled with an early morning drive to newport beach to watch the football games, a little shopping, and then let the tailgating begin!

Fellow blogger crush: 9 to 5 chic

I ABSOLUTELY adore the style blog 9-5 chic . A lot of the style blogs I come across are of fashion writers or bloggers, or people with pretty non traditional jobs. I don't know about you, but I work in corporate America, and if I walked into the office for my Monday morning meeting in scalloped leather shorts and a see-through blouse and knee socks-as fabulous as it may be-that would prob be my last meeting.

Anh knows my pain! She has the same problem and does not work in "the industry"-she works in a serious setting yet is able express how fashion forward she is at the office, and posts her great weekend style as well. She mixes high and low, investing in key pieces and picking up trendy items at H&M, Forever and other stores so not to break the bank.

September in the Bag: Megan of Pink to Green

Hello Sweet Nothings readers- I'm excited to be blogging here today! Admittedly, I'm sharing the contents of my bag with some trepidation... however, for a sweet blog friend like Danielle, I'm happy to participate in this personal, In the Bag, series. Here's a peak at what makes the trip around town with me each day:

1)I dress in business attire for my day job so a classic shoulder bag like this Kate Spade is in heavy rotation.

2) Because I do change my purse from time, I try to make that as seamless as possible by keeping everything contained to my makeup bag and a wallet. For last minute morning hustle, this keeps swap-time to a minimum! My wallet was a gift from my friend from New Zealand; it is handmade which makes it even more special. (Her mother sells these fabulous and fairly-priced items on her site here!)

3) I carry 2 purse sized fragrances because fragrance is my favorite accessory. L'Occtaine has a collection called Voyage en Mediterranee that keeps me coming back for more. Right now I'm spritzing this and this in rotation.

4) Since recently making my hair darker, I changed my lip colors. The NARS duo of this and this takes me from day to night seamlessly and I adore the highly pigmented formula of their lipstick which lets me create more drama for a special occasions.

5) The iphone is my saving grace. Since I'm often rushing to meetings in new places, I use the map app all the time. (Very handy since I could get lost in my own closet)

6) Tortoise shell hair accessories are a staple in my wardrobe. They are dressier than a plain rubber band and add some polish when I want to throw my hair up at the end of the day. I can't seem to escape J Crew without adding another one to my collection. (PS- did you know they have a lifetime guarantee on these?!)

7) Functional items like Advil, toothpaste, toothbrush and hairbrush are essential for meeting clients, so albeit unglamorous they are toted around too!

Ok, I really want to see The Social Network about Facebook. Being one of the originals-hey folks, do you remember when it was only us college kids on facebook?-I think the evolution of it has been fascinating, and think its kinda odd when I get friend requests from my 12 year old cousins and my 65 year old parents friends...such a change from when I was friend requesting the cute guy sitting next to me in macro econ..and yea..I would watch anything with Justin Timberlake in it..Are you ladies going to see it? Now don't mind me while I switch tabs and go back to facebook stalking.....

Gaga for Goyard

I LOVE Goyard totes. I currently have two St. Louis totes, and am contemplating a third...I am obsessed, I know..

I have the navy like Diane Kruger(minus the stripes and monogram)

and I managed to also scoop up the pink like LeAnn Rimes as well

I have been noticing more and more being drawn to incorporating Osborn and Little's wallpaper into my home to bring a little Goyard into my decor as well

Thanks to the ever fabulous Furbish Studio, we can all have a little Goyard, and not break the bank..these fabulous Goyard bowls are new in her shop

and for 7.00, I will be scooping up handfuls of these bowls for my self and friends to give as gifts...goyards for everyone..thanks Jamie!

Look for Less: Taylor Jacobson's Cross Necklace

I've been on a roll with my look for less lately, and had to share this one..since season one of Rachel Zoe Project, I have been loving Taylor's Rozark side cross necklace..it runs for about 500-800 depending on what type you get, and it sold out..

I found an alternative on singer22.com by Jennifer Zeuner that has been featured on Vanessa Hudgens

it is 122.00, so WAY more affordable, but a little out of my budget at the moment since I have a few crosses I have acquired along the way from trips to Italy and my confirmation and random holidays, etc.

so I decided to google "side cross necklace" into google shopping, and it brought me to etsy, and

28.00...red diva designs ..it arrived in 3 days and I absolutely ADORE it..talk about a bargain!!

Also, Tucker for Target is a real winner...I checked it out early Sunday and scored a few pieces..but if you are planning on getting any of the dresses, GO UP A SIZE...they are SHORT...I got one and looked like I was ready to make a few bucks on the corner..for reals..so that is going back today...the material isn't the best(but I wasn't expecting it to be) but I recommend. I got the looks I couldn't live without, but there are def a few pieces I will be stalking for when they inevitably go on sale
