What I Wore: Britney Spears Performance

My coworker rocks. His brother works for The Jimmy Kimmel show, and he always offers to have us go. So last Friday when they announced Brit was performing, I immediately asked if there was any way to get in( I was not expecting it, since Brit is on serious lockdown these days)

I didn't find out I was going to get to go with my friend until Tuesday morning, and was beside myself the rest of the work day. We had VIP performance admittance, so we were basically on the stage with her.

Weekend Projects

Hello loves! For those of you who follow me on Twitter, this is a little repeat of my tweets on Saturday, but I wanted to share some projects that finally got accomplished around the condo

Sorry for the iPhone pics, I kinda cant find my camera. again.

We put up this amazing Z Gallerie chandy over my kitchen table. It really adds a lot of GLAM to the room.My dad says its a disco ball, and I don't even mind it.

These fabulous curtains from Target went up in the guest bedroom/office. I LOVE LOVE the pattern and the pop it makes.

We updated the old, hunter green ceiling fan in my bedroom to a much more modern one. I know, some of you are like ugh ceiling fans, and I agree, but when it is 102 degrees at night during the summer, you need one. This one looks a lot better in the room for sure.

The closet organization full scale project is getting pushed back a bit for some other big ticket remodels, but I wanted to organize my pretty shoes for display. Some shoes are just too pretty to keep in the box.

Thanks to my daddy for being a trooper on Saturday!

Friday Lessons

Happy Friday loves. I had a busy, thought provoking week. Filled with laughs,tears,meltdowns, various songs on repeat over and over,and puppy kisses when I needed them most. Some things I learned:

• As much as I complain, I would be completely helpless without my family so close. I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing at 26
• Sometimes I am my own worst enemy. As Sara and Jaclyn tell me on an almost daily basis, I need to get out of my head.
• Blog Friend Brunches are just delightful and need to happen again soon!
• Sometimes, even thought I rescued Georgie, I'm pretty sure he rescued me
• I am ready for summer
• Can you believe this is the end of the 12th week of 2011? And they have pretty fab 12 weeks for the most part
• I forgot how hard it is to write a business plan. It is much harder when it is your own money and not hypothetical money for projects in college
• I have finally accepted my black boyfriend blazer is never magically coming back from wherever it now is. I am open to suggestions for a new one, preferably in the under 50.00 range
• I'm so ready for next Friday!

March My Favorite Find: Mackenzie of Design Darling

Hello Loves! Today we continue with "My Favorite Find" and have Mackenzie, a fabulous lady who is a RUE contributor, has worked for Jonathan Adler, and has the most inspiring little blog I have ever seen

Hi there! I'm Mackenzie from Design Darling and I'm thrilled to be guest posting on Sweet Nothings. Thank you so much, Danielle, for having me today!

My favorite recent find has been Loren Hope Designs' jewelry. I'm starting to get more into jewelry as I look to expand my collegiate wardrobe into looks that will be office-appropriate after my graduation in May. Loren's pieces are perfect for the job (pun intended!) since they tastefully add interest to basic separates like white blouses and t-shirts. I already own a few of her gorgeous pieces and I can't wait to add more to my collection!

The first piece I own is the Sophie clear bib necklace ($75). Lately I've been pairing it with a gray t-shirt, navy blazer, and topknot for a look that's unfussy but pulled together. It's completely decadent but goes with absolutely everything. Hello, obsessed.

The coolest thing about LHD jewels is that you can buy a

long gold chain ($45) and switch out pendants like this turquoise deco number ($45). Loren's pendants are affordable and so versatile you'd be crazy not to check them out. I wore mine for a girls' night out and I can't tell you how many compliments it brought in!

LHD's flapper tassel necklace in coral ($88) is definitely nearing the top of my wishlist. I love the 1920s influence, the combination of gold and coral, and the dangly tassels at the end. It makes even a simple black tank look completely fabulous!

To continue the turquoise trend that seems to be happening in my jewelry box, I'm thinking my next purchase will be this fringe necklace ($115). Can you imagine it with a simple shift dress come summer? I want need.

I was so thrilled to stumble upon a shop whose jewels are as chic as they are wearable. I can't wait to expand my own collection and I hope you'll do the same!

Prayers for Japan

I know by now everyone has seen the shocking footage out of Japan. As someone who lives in Northridge during the 94 quake, I cannot image what is was like to be in a quake that was 300,000 times that, as well as the aftershocks, tsunami, and now the nuclear meltdown that is happening.

It is just heartbreaking to watch, and it is one of those things that really puts some perspective on everything.

Bad Blogger

Just checking in dolls. I took zero pics from the weekend, in a total cute outfit fail. I am so sad, le tired, and this time change is killing me.

It's Friday!!!

Happy friday kittens! I am once again in the bay, reunited with my bestest girlfriends for a weekend of brunch, drinks, dancing, belated birthday celebrations, and much more fun

I'll be back on Monday with a full recap..I'm going to try to be good with my resolution and take pictures to share!

Also, I am just elated that my dear friend Justin comes home from Iraq tonight after a 13 month deployment. He was wounded and received a purple heart(we joke that it obvi wasn't purple enough to be sent home), but on Thanksgiving received a personal phone call from President Obama asking how he was doing and thanking him for his service, so he jokes it was worth in the end. I cannot wait to see him for lunch Monday.

What I Wore: Colton's Baptism

So, I apologize for the picture quality on this. I took about 15 of these, and the wind was so crazy, I looked like cousin it in all of them, but I still wanted to share my experience wearing "The Kate Middleton dress"
