Happy (Halloween) Weekend!

Happy Weekend kittens ! Do you all have fun plans and costumes? I actually don't really have anything on the agenda-which is probably good since I'm not really a pro at throwing together a last min. costume and I'm still not feeling great. Besides a hair cut tomorrow, I will be relaxing and watching football!

Look for Less: Confetti System Garland

By now I am sure everyone has seen around blog land the Confetti System Tassel Garlands, such as the one Emily of Cupcakes and Cashmere has in her office

but for 130 a pop, not happening now or ever

Then I discovered ETSY shop Pomflair while scouting some poofs for a baby shower

30 dollars gets you a nearly identical version, at 100 less. I am sure many of you are savvy DIYers who could whip this up in no time(see a tutorial here ), but not me, so this is probably going to be the way to go!

Of Course it Happens to Me

No post today lovies...saturday night I had an allergic reaction that I probably should've gone to the hospital for. On a first date. I had to sleep at his place bc I couldn't breathe or talk, let alone drive home. And then I woke up looking like this(this actually would've been an upgrade)

I'm still swollen and my lips are enormous, and not in the sexy angelina jolie way.
And the date was amazing before that. Likelihood I am going to see him again is probably pretty slim....

October My Favorite Find:Chelsea from Choose to be Happy

Happy Friday loves! Today we have our next installment of My Favorite Find, and this may be one of the coolest ones yet...enjoy!!

Hi there!

from Choose to be Happy

I am really quite excited to virtually be here today on Danielle’s bloggie!

I think guest posting is the best and I really just love this little monthly series of hers where bloggers share their “Favorite Find."

It’s pretty much genius, I mean with so many unique and amazing gems floating around in internet land, it’s impossible to discover them all on your own!

I am a very big believer in celebrations.

Birthdays, anniversaries, half birthdays… really any occasion. So because of this I wanted to introduce yall to one of my favorite internet finds as of lately: Leafcutter Designs!

The world’s smallest postal service!

Basically in the website words:

“Write a letter and have it turned into a "world's smallest letter." The letter is transcribed on a miniature desk in the tiniest of script, sealed with a miniscule wax seal with the sender's initial pressed into it, packaged up with a magnifying glass in a glassine envelope, and finished off with a large wax seal.”

... um yes i know. it’s amazing.

As soon as I stumbled upon this website it was love at first sight.

Within the first 15 minutes I was already working on having one of the little letters sent to my friend in California. I have continued to use this site for so many occasions and sometimes, for no occasion at all. Sometimes it’s just nice to pop in and say hello, via snail mail. Very, very small snail mail that is!

Not only do i get a kick out of such a fun site, but my friends and family have absolutely loved their little surprises. It’s the cutest.

Hope yall love it just as much as me!

thanks Danielle for having me :)

Blushington Makeup Salon

I had a date last week so I decided to try out the new Blushington makeup salon on Sunset. Very similar to their neighbor drybar, it is a makeup only salon that allows a full face application(35) or eyes only (25) and you are guaranteed to be in and out in 30 min. The girls who worked there were so nice, and there is no pressure to buy any products. They were very informative and were giving me tips on how to recreate the look

I did the Lucky Stars(not red lips) and added extra lashes for 15.00 and no joke, the first thing my date noticed were my eyes. (that date went well.as did number two. then typical LA guy came out and I was disgusted)
However, I would totally recommend and cannot wait to go back!(and stop into drybar before!)

They also offer classes I plan to hit up next year after the holidays so I can learn how to master the looks myself!

BHLDN Column Gown

I adore this column gown with a light pink detailing at the bottom. I think it would be adorable if you had pink bridesmaid dresses( or gray) I think BHLDN is a little pricey for gowns, but the shape of this is a classic

Boston Buddies Charity Wine

I adopted my beloved Georgie from a fabulous Rescue organization called Boston Buddies. I am still on their mailing list, and received an email about their new fundraiser, Blends for Buddies.

I plan to order the sample pack to show my support for an organization that really changed my life by allowing Mr. Georgie into it!

Ruby Press Offices

I think The Glitter Guide is trying to tell me I need a new job in an amazing creative space that empowers. This week they featured the Berkeley offices of Ruby Press, and I just adore

I wish I knew about this company when I was a student just a tunnel ride away

Favorite Fall Treat: Grilled Cheese and Tomato Soup

There is nothing quite like snuggling up on the couch with a bowl of tomato soup and a grilled cheese sando on a fall weekend with football on the tv. One of the best, simple, non fuss grilled cheese sando's I've ever had was a few weeks ago in San Diego here, but that may have been the pitchers of beer and the NY Giants win talking.

This picture makes me want to throw a dinner party and serve these guys as the appetizers
